Job description

Roles and responsibilities

As Waiter at Nobu by the Beach, you will provide hands-on support and assistance to colleagues to ensure that the highest levels of fine dining service and courtesy are provided to our guests, whilst delivering an exceptional standard of service.

You will be familiar with the complete food and beverage menu, knowledgeable on all promotional activities. In addition to the above a priority of this role will be to closely monitor the consistency of food and beverage items that are being served to ensure overall service quality, escalating any major problems or complaints to management.

About You

The ideal candidate must have a passion for hospitality with a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with a proven track record of working in a fine dining restaurant. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be a team player, manage multiple tasks and have confidence in dealing with a diverse set of clienteles.

  • Multitasking: The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables.
  • Time Management: Efficiently managing time to ensure timely service and avoid delays.
  • Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to details, such as taking accurate orders, ensuring food is served correctly, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverages: Understanding the menu, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer customer questions and make recommendations.
  • Basic Math Skills: Accurate calculations for bills, tips, and change.
  • Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long hours and carry trays of food and drinks.

  • Greeting and seating customers.

  • Clearing tables and resetting them for the next customers.
  • Processing payments and handling cash and credit card transactions.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborating with other staff members, such as cooks and bartenders.
  • Upselling and suggesting additional items to customers.
