Senior Underwriter Engineering

Following internal mobility we have a role available within our Dubai office to deliver strategic direction across our Natural Resources book. Predominantly Onshore business, the book focuses largely on civil construction with large contracts across the Middle East. This role involves writing guidelines, underwriting complex new businesses, and offering specialist advice. Additionally, the role is responsible for building and maintaining broker relationships, applying technical expertise, contributing to business results, and staying informed about industry standards and new product introductions.

The Opportunity:

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic direction for underwriting portfolios in the region, ensuring growth and profitability.

Your new role:

1. Develop and implement product strategies for profitability and growth.
2. Drive business plan achievement in the portfolio.
3. Encourage creative thinking for innovative solutions.
4. Refine processes and procedures to improve systems.
5. Monitor and review internal reporting processes for compliance.
6. Understand product issues through analysis.
7. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders.
8. Deliver profitable growth across all product lines.
9. Provide technical direction to portfolio professionals.

About you:

1. Experience within underwriting Natural Resources business, preferably onshore with knowledge across construction and engineering.
2. Good interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and trust internally and externally.
3. Ability to analyse and use data for decision making with excellent negotiation skills.
4. Teamwork qualities through a wide range of activities and challenges whilst working closely and collegiately alongside colleagues.
