Job Description : Senior Technology Resilience Manager

Mandatory skills

  • 15+ years of experience in implementing multi-site technology service resiliency programs within the financial services sector.
  • Expertise in managing technology services hosted across various platforms including own data centers, co-location facilities, multitenant environments, and cloud service sites.
  • Professional certification in Business and Technology Service Resilience.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in IT operations, especially concerning high availability devices and equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT Disaster Recovery Automation, Infrastructure Storage, and Operating Systems.
  • Profound understanding of the use, operation, and maintenance of Servers and related data processing equipment and peripherals.
  • Ability to analyse complex production control issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Competence in reading, analysing, and interpreting technical documents and procedures.
  • Proficiency in writing reports and routine business correspondence.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to respond effectively to queries from managers, clients, and customers.
  • Familiarity with Change Control Processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Business Continuity Planning, as well as Incident and Problem Management.
  • Significant expertise in operating systems, data processing job control languages, file transfer protocols, and production control software functions.
  • Knowledgeable in areas such as Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, IT Strategy / Roadmap, Information Security, Cost Containment, TCO, ROI, Business Continuity, Vendor Management & Negotiation, Project Management, ITIL, PCCI, ISO standards, Best Practices, Technology Architecture, IT Risk, Compliance, Audit, Employee / Staff Engagement, Metrics, KPIs, and reporting change control management, as well as technology consulting and integration.

Key Result Areas

  • Manage Technology Service Resilience for Mashreq's datacentres / computer rooms (24+ locations on-premises, co-locations, cloud) globally.
  • Focus on assessing, developing, testing, and maintaining an IT Service Resilience Plan to recover IT and telecommunications systems and infrastructure during disasters or business disruptions.
  • Lead and manage a global Technology Service Resilience testing program to ensure recovery from disruptions to facilities, technology systems, or applications, including international locations.
  • Manage the Technology Service Resilience for all Mashreq sites, including both UAE and international locations, covering primary and secondary data centres in both physical and cloud environments.
  • Participate in cloud technology strategy planning, service, site, roadmap planning, service recovery capability, and SLA formations to ensure chosen methodology is in line with the bank's service resilience policy and plan.
  • Introduce modern recovery techniques, strategies, and practical methods to build a robust and resilient technology support infrastructure and critical process recovery capabilities to ensure a fast and efficient recovery of business operations and mission-critical IT systems, applications, and data.

  • Complete all department administrative tasks promptly, including meeting attendance, status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, expense processing, documentation, and other assigned duties.
  • Support the Business Continuity Plan and implement technologies to ensure mission-critical systems' high availability.
