The jobholder is responsible to validate the analysis as well as quality control sampling, inspection and testing for raw materials, intermediate and final products within the respective function in accordance with the approved quality control methods and SOPs.
Maintaining the availability and integrity of all the laboratory equipment, verifying equipment calibration validity.
Operating and monitoring the equipment's performance in assigned units of the laboratory, while complying with the safety, operation and condition of an assigned area including all equipment, maintaining all equipment in proper operating condition.
Performing first line equipment troubleshooting and reporting any anomalies noted to the shift supervisor, custodian and maintenance team.
Key Accountabilities
Laboratory Operations
Perform all routine and extra verification sample tests, in accordance with the accepted quality control methods and established testing procedures.
Validate the analysis by comparing the test data; verify the reliability of the entered data by applying sound logical reasoning and observing historical data and production parameter trends.
Ensure the results are meeting the requirement of the final classification of the final product prior to authorizing samples.
Coordinate and monitor the sampling of raw materials, intermediate and final products as per schedule.
Execute the inspection reports on time, as per the quality control standards and systems.
Advise shift controller on all related aspects and obtain guidance when necessary.
Carry out SPC control sample test in the designated area. In the case of deviation, follow up the established test procedure.
Enter test result data into LIMS and bring any abnormalities to the notice of his line and respective parties.
Lead the preparation and standardization of chemical reagents used in day-to-day working of the laboratory tests.
Set up the sample list and test analytical results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Prepare and select the appropriate chemical reagents according to lab standards and analytical instruments in coordination with the lab team.
Online Testing
Perform a daily inspection tour to all online equipment, and report the status in the dedicated reports.
Create and present the OLPA daily report for all plants in the lab morning meeting.
Perform the SPC of the OLPA equipment in accordance with the established SPC schedules.
Monitor the Online equipment and data using technology OLPA control room, and take appropriate action to rectify problems.
Act as the first point of contact for operating OLPA equipment. Enter test result data into LIMS and bring any abnormalities to the notice of his line and respective parties.
Equipment & Assets
Follow up laboratory maintenance work and final testing of the repaired equipment to ensure availability.
Check and carry out trial runs on newly installed and/or repaired laboratory apparatus and analyzers.
Supervise installation, commissioning and calibration activities of new equipment for Site Acceptance.
Comply with all safety and fire rules and regulations, including the use of protective clothing and equipment, and ensure that all personnel working in his area comply with safety regulations.
Carry out other similar or related duties as assigned, including ensuring the application of good housekeeping in the laboratory, maintaining all related files and records, maintaining gas supply to instruments, etc.
Laboratory Support
Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member. Process analysis data and provide upon request for assisting in compiling business reports and making data-driven decisions.
Participate in Work Management System Permit to Work as Permit Issuer.
Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.
Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.
Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by the company safely and in working condition.
Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.
Minimum Requirements
Diploma in Technical Disciplines or equivalent qualifications.
Fluency in English; oral and written.
Minimum of 3 years of total experience in technical occupations.
In-depth knowledge of the methods used in the company's area of operation.
Hands-on sampling distribution, acceptance and rejection limits, and other quality control concepts and terminologies. Hands-on quality control standards and operating procedures.
Thorough understanding of Borouge products and its classifications.
Good communication and reporting skills. Working knowledge with Microsoft applications.
