Senior Technical Engineer - Public Cloud - Emiratization Position

Job Purpose

Emirates IT is looking for the right candidate to join our unique public cloud journey and be a part of the dynamic high performing team of experts who are actively working on maturing our cloud footprint, unlocking native capabilities, and automating our services. With long-standing partnerships with leading hyperscalers and key workloads hosted globally, we are looking to expand our existing team with innovative cloud experts that will help us elevate our cloud posture and drive end-to-end automation. The Senior Technical Engineer - Public Cloud (UAE National) will take an active role in developing and maturing the product and services roadmap on the public cloud, in alignment with architecture principles and IT strategy. She/he will design, develop, support, and deliver automated and cost-effective public cloud services. This includes working on landing zone components, shared services, network, policies, and consumable services, using Infrastructure as Code through Terraform. The successful candidate will also take part in application onboarding and cost optimization on the cloud recommending and implementing saving plans wherever applicable.

In this role, you will:

1. Take an active role in developing the public cloud roadmap.
2. Provide recommendations and feedback for enhancements and implement cloud-native capabilities to replace traditional services.
3. Follow Emirates Agile Delivery methodology to design and deliver features aligned with the roadmap.
4. Establish and maintain product documentations and low-level design documents on confluence.
5. Implement and maintain landing zones, availability zones, and shared services through code.
6. Drive Infrastructure as code automation in all public cloud offerings and services through Terraform.
7. Enforce standards, security compliance, and guardrails using policies through code.
8. Assist in establishing cost optimization practices on the cloud.
9. Have a solid understanding of cloud networking and have the ability to assist in network management.
10. Participate in application onboarding to the public cloud.
11. Provide required operational support to cloud services in line with the agreed services levels.
12. Foster the development of high performing technical teams to meet strategic architectural objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

What you will bring to the team:

Experience:

• Experience working with Public Cloud providers AWS/Azure: 5+ Years Overall 8+ Years of experience within Information Technology.

Qualifications:

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent): Degree in Information Technology

Certifications:

• AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect

Required skills:

• 5+ Years of Hands-on experience in AWS Cloud engineering and delivery.
• 5+ Years of Hands-on experience in MS Azure Cloud engineering and delivery.
• Excellent knowledge in scripting and automation platforms (such as Terraform and Jenkins)

Knowledge/skills:

• ITIL and AGILE Frameworks

Advantageous skills:

• AKAMAI knowledge on CDN and GTM Capabilities
• Kubernetes experience
