Senior System Engineer

We have an urgent requirement for a Senior System Engineer for our client in a financial institution based in Abu Dhabi.

Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Join cross-functional teams and help design, build, and maintain secure, redundant, and highly available technological solutions that address the needs of the organization.
2. Manage the existing infrastructure of the organization.
3. Manage the existing network of the organization.
4. Actively monitor existing infrastructure and technological solutions of the organization.
5. Take ownership of systems and/or services as required.
6. Act as an escalation point providing 2nd and 3rd level support as required.
7. Provide mentorship and training to team members when required.
8. Create and maintain documentation for existing and new systems and/or services.
9. Contribute to the creation of policies, processes, or procedures as required by management.

Requirements:

1. University degree in computer sciences, computer engineering, or other related engineering discipline.
2. At least 5 years of experience working as a system administrator/system engineer, preferably reaching a senior level.
3. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
4. Experience administrating SAN Storage solutions (DELL EMC or other).
5. Experience installing, configuring, and managing Windows and Linux-based environments.
6. Experience setting up, deploying, and maintaining Active Directory environments.
7. Experience setting up and administrating Exchange mail servers.
8. Experience setting up and managing backup solutions (VEEAM, Acronis, or other).
9. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare or other).
10. Experience setting up and using monitoring systems and log management tools such as Zabbix or Prometheus (Grafana stack).
11. Able to read and write scripts in PowerShell, bash, python, or other scripting languages.
12. Experience working with Microsoft 365.
13. Experience working with Cloud Infrastructure providers such as Microsoft, Amazon, or others.

Desirable:

1. Experience designing and managing networks and network devices such as switches (Cisco, HP, Fortigate, or other), firewalls, etc.
2. Experience working in a financial institution.
3. Experience working in a medium to large organization.
4. Experience in writing policies, processes, or procedures.
5. Experience using automation/configuration management systems such as Ansible, Puppet, or other.
