We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Designer to join our team for an onshore oil and gas project specifically for the Engineering phase. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural design within the oil and gas sector with a preference for those who have worked on ADNOC projects. This role involves designing, drafting, and collaborating with engineers to develop structural layouts, plans, and detailed drawings essential to successful project execution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and produce 2D and 3D structural designs and detailed drawings for onshore oil and gas projects ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and safety regulations.
Work closely with engineers and other discipline designers to develop project plans, layouts, and specifications ensuring alignment across structural, civil, piping, and other project components.
Ensure all designs and drawings meet ADNOC standards and international codes (e.g. AISC, API, BS EN) and project-specific requirements.
Participate in 3D model reviews, clash detection, and design optimization sessions to validate design integrity, constructability, and project goals.
Prepare and manage technical documentation including structural plans, material specifications, and data sheets ensuring accurate and timely updates.
Conduct self-checks and peer reviews of drawings and designs adhering to quality standards and project schedules.
Provide technical support to construction teams and resolve design-related issues during the construction phase as necessary.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural design for onshore oil and gas projects with strong knowledge of the Engineering phase. ADNOC project experience is preferred.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, SP3D, or similar 3D modeling software; familiarity with STAAD.Pro or other structural analysis tools is a plus.
Strong understanding of engineering standards, structural calculations, and onshore oil and gas project requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to produce high-quality work with attention to detail and accuracy while meeting project deadlines.
Previous experience with ADNOC projects or similar Middle Eastern clients.
Understanding of local regulations and standards specific to the UAE.
