3. JOB PURPOSE:
Lead/participates in the development and verifies the implementation of the ADNOC HSE Standards HSE Policies, associated procedures and guidelines, provide professional advice related to ‘Industrial Health & Hygiene” technical issues to enhancing Occupational Health performance of the company.
4. ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the development, tracking and ensuring proper implementation of ADNOC HSE Strategic Objectives in the field of Occupational Health & Hygiene management.
- Delivers technical inputs in the area of ‘Occupational Health & Hygiene Prevention, ‘Technical problem solving’, ‘Risk Management’ to ensure HSE compliance.
- Oversee planning of activities involving improvement of Industrial Health & Hygiene functions for ADNOC to be implemented across ADNOC facilities.
- Overseas/ ADNOC Group companies for the development and implementation of the site/facility specific Occupational Health & Hygiene prevention/protection measures, Risk Management & ensures HSE Control Measures are implemented.
- Define, guidance and recommendations for any occupational health impact assessment studies for new and existing onshore/offshore facilities across ADNOC.
- Analyze trends and potential Occupational Health Hazard for short & long term impact and develop necessary actions to manage potential impacts on OH.
- Provides professional advice and recommendation on the prevention of injuries/illness, contractor’s health management system which is linked to the performance of the company.
- Lead development and review of Occupational Health related reports and Industrial Health bio-markers to provide recommendation and further implementation of mitigation initiatives across ADNOC Group.
- Inform, review, and advise on the occupational Health and Hygiene aspect findings and Corrective Active Plan/Report (CAP/R) of the HSE and OHMS reviews/ audits/ inspections/ investigations.
- Develop, coordinate and ensures implementing periodic Occupational Health related educational programs to promote a high level of awareness of the health hazards and effects specific to the operations concerned.
- Investigate reported suspected/confirmed occupational illness, Non Accidental Death (NAD), health, hygiene and welfare incidents/occurrences.
- Participates in verification of the classification of HSE Incidents (People) occurring across the ADNOC companies.
- Steer on review of occupational health & hygiene surveys in the workplace.
- Ensures the availability of adequate risk control measures and recommends protection methods to reduce insurance premiums.
- Familiarize with Occupational Health related latest UAE Federal laws, regulation and applicable international standards.
- Performs other similar or related, other additional duties as and when required and as assigned by Manager Environment and Occupational Health Department.

- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job.
Budgets:
- Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
- Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures.
Performance Management:
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/ Division / Department/ Section.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines.
Reports:
- Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:
- Periodic contacts and interface with all relevant ADNOC Group companies, Contractors and 3rd party personnel.
- Regular contacts with OH peers from other ADNOC Group Companies personnel.
External:
- Frequent contacts with vendors and local authorities in the development and promotion of occupational health and hygiene issues.
6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science/Engineering/Medicine
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills:
- 10 years of professional experience in HSE and Occupational Health & Hygiene function, with 4-5 years in an oil & gas industry.
- Post graduate Membership/ Fellowship/ Associate Fellowship training in occupational Health and/ Hygiene would be an advantage.
- Must be proficient in English and have superior communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Able to demonstrate professional skills in managing his activities within the HSE Occupational Health Framework.
- Strong skills in working through major organizational change.
- Valid UAE Driving License.
