Senior Specialist – Data Quality Engineer

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority for the banking and insurance sector in the United Arab Emirates. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Specialist Data Quality Engineer to join our Data Office Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining a robust data governance and quality framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement data quality rules, monitor and report on key data quality metrics, and ensure adherence to governance and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to define, design and implement comprehensive data quality rules and controls using Informatica IDQ and EDM platforms.
2. Develop and maintain data quality monitoring frameworks, generate insightful reports, and support Data Stewards in validation and quality assurance.
3. Identify and analyse data quality issues, facilitate root cause assessments, and develop remediation strategies to ensure data integrity.
4. Design and implement process improvements, including optimising data pipelines for enhanced scalability, automating workflows and improving data delivery.
5. Develop scripts and transformations for extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data from diverse sources into the Enterprise Data Platform, integrating with Informatica tools.
6. Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned to meet CBUAE's evolving needs.

Self-Management Responsibilities

1. Set and achieve annual performance goals in collaboration with the reporting manager.
2. Identify and pursue training and development opportunities to maintain a high level of technical and professional competence.
3. Stay informed of industry trends, technological advancements, and evolving best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

1. For UAE Nationals: Minimum of four years of experience in data related functions (i.e. Governance, Quality or Engineering) within the financial services sector.
2. For other Nationalities: Minimum of six years of relevant experience.
3. At least three years of hands-on experience with Informatica tools (IDQ, EDC, Axon, ETL).
4. Strong proficiency in Oracle SQL and data frameworks, with proven expertise in root cause analysis and issue management.
5. Comprehensive understanding of financial and banking systems and applications.
6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable Skills and Certifications

1. Data related certification such as CMDP or CIMP is an advantage.
2. Proven track record of leading high-performing analytics teams.
