Senior Solutions Architect, ISV MENAT

Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS customers to help them make the most of the Cloud. They are at the crossroads of business and technology and engage with organizations at all stages of cloud adoption. Solutions Architects also take a leading role in creating and presenting technical content and best practices.

Solutions Architects own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS. They work to understand the customer's business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

The role will be based in Dubai, UAE.

Key job responsibilities

As a Solutions Architect, you will work directly with customers to accelerate their mission-critical projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.

You will also:

1. Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
2. You will own the technical relationship with the customer and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide. You will share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform.
3. Take a leading role in the creation and capture of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts). Evangelize and educate about AWS technology and industry trends (e.g. workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
4. Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching and mentoring others.
5. Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your interests and your customer's outcomes.

A day in the life

You will have the opportunity to work with account managers to help ISV customers accelerate their cloud implementation to modernize their business on AWS. Working with these customers, you will help them transform existing workloads by designing modern target architectures optimized for business agility, innovation, performance, resiliency, cost, security, and more using both native and partner solutions.

Our teams focus on understanding customer key business drivers as well as the existing application architecture(s) to deliver a technical recommendation to the customer with a goal of designing a robust cloud architecture that can scale as their business requires.

The AWS ISV Solutions Architecture team is dedicated to working with software companies. We’re here to help customers to design and build some of the most scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures and solutions – cost efficiently to enable them to expand their business globally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Knowledge of cloud architecture
2. Technical Degree (Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant tech experience.
3. Extensive years of experience in designing and developing complex software solutions.
4. The right person will be highly technical and analytical thinker, possess several years of hands-on: software development/technical integration/consulting experience.
5. Experience driving technical and/or organizational change of significant complexity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience and familiarity with software companies (ISV), especially building software for FSI and Payment industries.
2. Expertise in one or more of the following: DevOps, Containers, Serverless, Data Analytics, AI/ML, Application Migration & Modernisation and Business Transformation.
3. Experience working with Service/Product Teams to close the customer feedback loop.
4. Experience working in a customer-facing role (working with customer executives e.g. CPO).
5. Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services.
6. Experience working with MENAT customers.
