Senior Solution Architect Specialist (NAWAH)

Job Purpose

The Senior Solution Architecture Specialist leads the development and implementation of complex IT solutions that meet the business needs of the organization and align with the overall technology strategy. They provide technical leadership and guidance to other members of the architecture team and the wider IT organization, ensuring that solution architectures adhere to industry best practices and standards for security, scalability, and performance.

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability

Enterprise and business architecture Level: 5

1. Develops models and plans to drive the execution of the business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance.
2. Contributes to creating and reviewing a systems capability strategy which meets the business's strategic requirements.
3. Determines requirements and specifies effective business processes, through improvements in technology, information or data practices, organisation, roles, procedures and equipment.

Solution architecture Level: 4

1. Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.
2. Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability. Determines and documents architecturally significant decisions.
3. Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products.
4. Supports projects or change initiatives through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles. Aligns solutions with enterprise and solution architecture standards (including security).

Emerging technology monitoring Level: 4

1. Supports monitoring of the external environment and assessment of emerging technologies.
2. Contributes to the creation of reports, technology roadmapping and the sharing of knowledge and insights.

Measurement Level: 3

1. Applies standard techniques to support the specification of measures and the collection and maintenance of data for measurement.
2. Generates, produces and distributes reports.
3. Uses measurement tools for routine analysis of data.
4. Identifies and implements improvements to data collection methods.

Professional Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Familiarity with company structure and operations outside of IT
