Senior Software Engineer–TPF/ALCS

Job Purpose

Product Engineering - It is a Software Engineering portfolio under Emirates Group where we are hiring talented software engineers to develop and support a host of software applications that powers the growth of Emirates Airlines and group with business interest spanning from Passenger services, Airport/ground operations, Crew & Network Operations, Air Cargo Sales and operations, Holiday and Leisure products and services at a global scale. Software is at the core to support this diverse, large, and complex business operations which are built using the latest and modern technology stack including TPF/ALCS, ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, Java Microservices, .Net, Python, Oracle, SalesForce, ERP suite, etc., following the best industry practices including DevSecOps and modern engineering practices.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

1. Work with senior technical engineers in the technical design process by contributing to the analysis of technical application requirements.
2. Convert technical solutions for small to medium-sized initiatives into low-level design and working code.
3. Independently write secure and optimized code through the implementation of the company's approved coding standards.
4. Be part of the rotational on-call support and actively participate in resolving production issues within SLAs with minimal or no active supervision.
5. Accountable for built-in quality and ensuring 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
6. Ensure refactoring practices are adequately adopted to ensure minimum code debt.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent): Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Experience: 3+ years in the following:

1. Building and maintaining complex software solutions using Assembler(IBM HLASM) in an ALCS environment.
2. HLASM High-level Assembly for development & supporting incidents.
3. Job Control Language and utilities for effective file handling including data transfer & offline data handling development in the mainframe.
4. Restructure X extended eXecutor (REXX) for automation & optimized ways of working.
5. ISO C for the mainframe for enhancing the TPF/DF product.
6. Java for the mainframe for creating / enhancing interfaces in WAS-OLA, WAS-OLA platform support.
7. Usage of SPM for structured program development and TPF/DF calls for database handling.
8. Creation and Consumption of WAS-OLA services for DCS/FQT/RES domain.
9. Development and support of Airline Control System (ALCS) handling of the ALCS patch upgrades user exit and z/OS interfaces programming, z/OS 2.2, IBM Tivoli System Automation, MQ Queue creation, data transfer & monitoring, ZEN- IMPLEX & EXIGENCE network and TCPIP / OSA definition of access points, monitoring, investigating & fixing support incidents, GDPS data center resiliency, WAS server configurations and maintenance.
10. Development and support of DCS (Departure Control Systems domain - including Check-in, Boarding, Flight handling capabilities).
11. Development and support of FQT (Fare Quote Ticketing and Pricing domain - that covers Fare quote, Itinerary pricing Ticketing, Interline EMD, e-Ticketing, GDS Ticketing).
12. Development and support of RES (Reservations domain including One Order and New Distribution Capabilities).
