Are you a Sanctions Compliance expert looking for a leadership role with strategic influence? My client, a leading bank in the UAE, is seeking an experienced sanctions professional to drive its sanctions compliance, risk management, and regulatory engagement.

Reporting directly into the Head of FCC and AML, this is a leadership, strategic position in the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the sanctions function, ensuring compliance with OFAC, UN, EU, UAE & OFSI frameworks.
• Manage sanctions screening, escalations & investigations across both onshore & offshore teams.
• Act as the main point of contact with regulators and correspondent banks on sanctions-related matters.
• Own and enhance the sanctions governance framework, ensuring accuracy in screening lists, policies, and risk management.
• Advise senior stakeholders and business units on sanctions risks and regulatory expectations.
• Handle complex sanctions cases related to high-risk jurisdictions, trade finance, and FinTech transactions.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Proven expertise in Sanctions Compliance within banking or financial services.
• Strong regulatory knowledge across global and UAE-specific sanctions laws.
• Ability to oversee and develop the sanctions framework.
• Must have UAE Sanctions exposure in the UAE from 2022 onwards.
• Experience managing teams and leading sanctions screening & investigations.
• Ability to work at a strategic level, advising senior stakeholders and engaging with regulators.
• CAMS, ICA, CFCS, or CRCMP certifications preferred.
