SENIOR SAFTEY ENGINEER (OFFSHORE)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join our team, specializing in Offshore Projects within the Oil & Gas industry. The Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, implementing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety across offshore facilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines for offshore projects.
2. Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits to mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements as necessary.
4. Provide technical guidance on safety-related matters to project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
5. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
6. Participate in project planning and design reviews to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project execution.
7. Conduct safety training sessions and workshops for personnel involved in offshore operations.
8. Review and approve contractor safety plans and ensure adherence to safety standards during construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
9. Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections to demonstrate compliance with safety regulations.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety engineering, preferably in Offshore Oil & Gas projects.
3. Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, API RP 14C, ISO 45001).
4. Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across disciplines.
8. Professional certifications in safety management (e.g., CSP, CMIOSH) preferred but not required.
