Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead key elements of the site-based post contract delivery of our cost management activities with a major Abu Dhabi developer. They will be expected to work well as part of a project delivery team and autonomously and know when to reach back to the office / line manager for additional support.

Job Duties

1. To achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts reinforcing the profile of the firm.
2. Ability to integrate with key members of the design team and Client team.
3. Assist in evaluating claims.
4. Preparation of financial updates and monthly cost reports.
5. Assesses and value progress payments and change requests.
6. Review and compare scopes of work production rates and cost data.
7. Preparation of earned value reports.
8. Prepare review and update cashflows.
9. Estimate variation orders for Contractors/Subcontractors.
10. Evaluate and negotiate variations and change orders in liaison with the Contract Administrator Design and Construction Teams.
11. Evaluate and negotiate final accounts settlements.

Specific Skills Required

1. High level of literacy skills in English.
2. Excellent working knowledge of industry best practices.
3. To lead our commercial team on a major leisure and entertainment project.
4. Knowledge of cost and contract management techniques, budget management, and change control.
5. Ability to present confidently.
6. Ability to act with discretion and safeguard confidentiality of project data.
7. Computer literate with specific experience in Cost Management software programs.

Qualifications :

Qualification

1. Must have a QS or Engineering degree or similar equivalent.
2. MRICS Desirable.

Experience

1. A minimum of 10 years experience with large scale projects.
2. Experience in working in a consultancy practice is essential.
3. Communication and formal English language skills are considered essential.
4. 48hrs 5 day working week.
5. Occasional travel within Abu Dhabi may be required so driving license and car is required.
