Job description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
  2. Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, risk management;
  3. Bills of Quantities production (POMI and CESSM3);
  4. Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
  5. Contract drafting (FIDIC);

Post Contract Responsibilities

  1. Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
  2. Interim valuations and payment certificates;
  3. Variations analysis, recommendations and management;
  4. Risk and value management and cost control functions;
  5. Costs analysis project work;
  6. Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
  7. Preparation of progress/cost reports;
  8. Reporting to Associate Director on all commercial issues;
  9. Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;
  10. Attendance and representation at commercial meetings;

Experiences And Qualifications

  1. MRICS status as minimum. This is non-negotiable;
  2. Experience in one of the following key sectors: residential;
  3. Degree in Quantity Surveying from recognised UK university;
  4. Minimum of 7 years' experience;
  5. Minimum of 3 years' UK or UAE/international experience;
  6. Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 3 years;
  7. Knowledge in the use of QS software CostX or similar is required;
  8. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  9. Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
