Job Summary:

The Senior Quality Assurance & Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards, conducting regular audits, and maintaining documentation to guarantee the highest quality assurance levels. The role requires close coordination with internal teams and subcontractors, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance. This role reports to Quality Assurance & Safety Manager / Deputy Quality Assurance & Safety Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Safety Standards Compliance:
    1. Daily monitoring of food safety-related activities.
    2. Coordination with subcontractors such as laboratory, pest control, and waste management.
    3. Monitoring production processes, materials, and products to meet quality standards.
    4. Conducting inspections, testing, and audits.
    5. Verification of cleaning and disinfection schedules.
    6. Ensuring proper documentation of CCP records and monitoring logs.
    7. Assisting QA Manager in FSMS, QMS, EMS, sustainability, and client audits.
    8. Conducting staff BFH training sessions.
  2. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
    1. Assisting in food recall management and ensuring traceability.
    2. Compliance with regulatory requirements during incidents.
  3. Workplace Safety:
    1. Assisting in creating and enforcing safety protocols.
    2. Conducting safety training and risk assessments.
    3. Investigating workplace incidents and recommending corrective actions.
    4. Supervising subcontractors.
    5. Conducting monthly risk-based inspections and submitting reports.
  4. Monitoring Production Processes:
    1. Conducting routine production facility audits.
    2. Verifying CCP records.
    3. Ensuring adherence to food safety practices across production stages.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Managing documentation and record-keeping systems.
    2. Shelving, labeling, and maintaining records for easy retrieval.
    3. Recording meeting minutes.
    4. Maintaining staff health cards.
    5. Conducting internal and monthly audits.
    6. Conducting supplier evaluations and equipment calibrations.
    7. Performing local supplier audits and maintaining approved supplier lists.
  6. Emergency Response:
    1. Ensuring compliance with legal and health regulations.
  7. Equipment and Facility Inspections:
    1. Regular inspections to ensure safety compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor or Master degree in any biological science or food technology.
  2. 5-7 years of experience (UAE experience preferred).
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
  4. Proficiency in quality management software, safety management systems, and data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint).
  5. Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify potential food safety hazards.
  6. Flexibility to work in different shifts, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Mandatory Certifications:

  1. Person In Charge (PIC) Level 3
  2. PIC Train the Trainer
  3. Level 3 in HACCP Management
  4. ISO 9001, 14001 Implementation Training
  5. HACCP/ISO 22000/FSSC/BRC Implementation Training
  6. Approved Internal Training by Dubai Municipality
