Senior Protocol Officer - UAE National Only
The Senior Protocol Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of protocol services, ensuring that proper procedures, etiquette, and diplomacy are followed for official meetings, state visits, conferences, and special events. The role requires strong organizational skills, a keen understanding of international protocol, and the ability to interact with high-level dignitaries and officials. The Senior Protocol Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that the organization’s official activities align with international standards and diplomatic protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Protocol Management:
- Organize and manage high-profile events, including state visits, diplomatic meetings, conferences, and ceremonies.
- Ensure adherence to protocol procedures, customs, and standards during official visits and events.
- Coordinate with other government departments, embassies, and international organizations to ensure smooth execution of official activities.
- Advise senior executives on matters related to protocol, including seating arrangements, order of precedence, and formalities.
Liaison with Dignitaries and Officials:
- Act as a primary point of contact for foreign diplomats, dignitaries, and VIP visitors.
- Coordinate logistics for foreign delegations, including travel, accommodations, and security requirements.
- Facilitate communication between senior officials and foreign dignitaries, ensuring clear understanding of diplomatic customs and expectations.
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Oversee the planning and execution of official functions, banquets, and ceremonies.
- Supervise event staff, ensuring that protocol standards are upheld throughout the event.
- Collaborate with external partners, including caterers, transportation providers, and security teams, to ensure successful event execution.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare official correspondence and documentation related to protocol events and meetings.
- Maintain detailed records of past and upcoming protocol events, including invitations, guest lists, and seating arrangements.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on protocol-related activities and developments.
Training and Mentorship:
- Provide training and guidance to junior protocol officers and administrative staff.
- Ensure that staff is updated on the latest developments in diplomatic protocol and etiquette.
Crisis Management:
- Resolve protocol-related issues or conflicts that may arise during events or high-level meetings.
- Act swiftly to handle any unforeseen challenges in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Desired Candidate Profile
Key Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or specialized certifications in Protocol Management, International Relations, or Diplomacy is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a protocol, diplomatic, or international relations role.
- Proven track record of managing high-level diplomatic events, state visits, or government functions.
- Experience working with senior government officials, diplomats, and foreign delegations.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of international protocols, etiquette, and diplomatic norms.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and handle sensitive situations diplomatically.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other administrative tools.
- Fluency in English, Arabic and other foreign languages is a plus.
