Senior Project Manager

Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.

We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for buildings, transportation and other infrastructure programmes.

Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah. The Emerging Markets Business focuses on markets outside the Gulf region in areas where Atkins are not yet established including North Africa, Middle East and Eurasia.

Due to continued growth, our Emerging Markets Business is looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to be based in Dubai to work on a number of projects in the Middle East, North Africa and Eurasia.

Minimum Requirements:
· Must be Degree qualified Architect or Engineer
· Minimum of 10 years experience in consultancy/construction firm
· Demonstrate a high standard of written and verbal communication skills - English
· Forming and managing relationships with clients, networking and promoting the Company
· Very good understanding of Operating Unit technologies including:

1. Project and resource Planning
2. Customer Care
3. Change control
4. Project Manager classifications
5. Environmental Management
6. H&S procedures
7. Risk Management

· Successful in identifying and following through on leads associated with new and existing clients
· Able to manage the drafting of successful offers with a sound appreciation of the range of contractual issues.
· Able to realistically estimate pricing associated with projects bids across a range of expertise
· Clear knowledge of work procedures, and ability to brief project team on them
· An effective team member able to apply knowledge gained across a broad range of disciplines
· Understand multi-disciplinary process and competently represent their discipline
· Flexible interpersonal skills demonstrate both internally and externally

Managerial (Project and/or People) Role:
· Display strong team management skills.
· Understanding of People Management issues and can conduct staff development and appraisals and can demonstrate a prior track record
· Fully conversant with the commercial aspects of project management
· Proven project management skills having had responsibility for completion of projects to time and cost
· Good knowledge of, and use of, Atkins capabilities outside of business units
· Good leadership qualities and gains respect from colleagues
