JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead complex EPCm projects within the oil and gas and energy sectors. This role is essential for driving the successful execution of large-scale EPCm projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to project delivery, the Project Director will act as EPCm Manager for the Middle East region, playing a critical role in establishing and growing the EPCm business. Responsible to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the EPCm framework. This includes supporting competitive proposals and representing the company to strengthen our market presence.

The Project Director will possess a deep understanding of project management principles and methodologies, coupled with a proven track record of delivering EPC or EPCm projects on time and within budget, ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is in place and that all project activities comply with industry standards and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Safety Management: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations throughout project execution.
  2. Project Management:
    1. Lead and manage large-scale EPCm projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    2. Develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
    3. Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project delivery.
    4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  3. EPCm Management:
    1. Oversee the EPCm operations in the region, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and objectives.
    2. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
    3. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the EPCm framework to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  4. Resource Management: Recruit, train, and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  5. Schedule and Budget Management: Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely completion of all activities and adherence to cost control measures.
  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to project cost and schedule.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency and effectiveness, providing regular reports to senior management.
  8. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of professionals, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.
  9. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance throughout the project duration.
  10. Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. University degree (bachelor's or master's) in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  3. Minimum of 20 years of experience in project management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role on large-scale EPC and EPCm projects in the oil and gas sector.
  4. Extensive track record managing EPC and EPCm projects within the Oil and Gas sector.
  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present, inform, and persuade at all levels and externally.
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  8. High level of integrity and professionalism.
  9. Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
