Job description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer focusing on leading the management of Brownfield EPC projects with multidisciplinary interface, 3rd party interfaces, and client liaison. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project delivery, ensuring timely completion, and meeting client expectations for a major onshore brownfield project in Sharjah, UAE.

This is a full-time onsite position in Sharjah, UAE.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our UAE Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded an Onshore Brownfield project to support an International Client operation for delivering FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Services. This project focuses on enhancing degassing stations, optimizing flare systems, and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Objectives

  • Manage engineering projects with multidisciplinary interface, 3rd party interfaces, and client liaison.
  • Lead the project to ensure successful project delivery, coordinating with discipline engineers, supporting departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Report to the Project Manager / Project Lead on day-to-day activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Wood's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely completion and meet client expectations.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other third parties to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Hold and minute weekly progress meetings with discipline engineers, ensuring that ownership is assigned, and actions are driven to closure in a timely manner.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and changes to ensure minimal impact on project schedule and budget.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and records.

What makes you remarkable?

  • Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the oil and gas industries with experience in EPC projects.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering projects with multidisciplinary interface, 3rd party interfaces, and client liaison.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Experience working in multicultural and dynamic environments.
  • Experience with project cost control and planning systems.
  • Familiarity with working on projects in Iraq (Basra region in particular) and/or GCC is preferable.
