Senior Project Engineer

Description:

You as a Senior Project Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Dubai, UAE. Technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as medium or high engineering complexity and ensuring that activities related to engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Your responsibilities:

1. Ensuring that engineering is developed with complete information; all multidisciplinary information has been included in the engineering development.
2. Evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks for conventional projects with moderately complex features.
3. Authorization and acts as a design authority for engineering deliverables in all applicable engineering disciplines.
4. May act as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completes engineering assignments for that discipline and collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues, or providing solutions to correct engineering errors.
5. Providing technical support to commissioning and start-up activities and traveling when necessary within activity location for customer meetings, workshop, technical POC and design review meetings and sales support creates project engineering proposals through the coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates.
6. Performs engineering risk analysis before submitting a proposal.
7. Contract management supports in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
8. Planning and control Define project tasks and ensure allocation of these tasks among project team members. Defining schedule, cost, and quality metrics. Coordinating the creation of work plans and cost estimates in all applicable engineering disciplines.
9. Risk and opportunity management Evaluates risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of one’s engineering projects or programs. Supporting the Project Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments, and implementation of resulting actions.
10. Customer works with customers to shape and deliver solutions, seeking feedback and innovating with the customer to drive and deliver improvements. Attending project meetings and presents all technical aspects of project assignments. Interacts with officials, contractors, suppliers, and others.
11. Supply chain management oversees the creation of subcontracts and manages the subcontractors jointly with other involved functions, including supply chain management. Negotiates claims and engineering changes.
12. Technical leadership and knowledge sharing collaborates and networks with engineering colleagues within HE and externally and sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines.

Your background:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant engineering is required.
Minimum 6 to 7 years of relevant project engineering is preferred.
Relevant industry experience is required.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
