Roles and responsibilities

Lead a team of Entertainment professionals to plan and execute the following:

  1. Develop show and event strategies and related creative concepts and plans in line with existing budgets.
  2. Oversee events calendar across Miral’s properties.
  3. Lead execution of all entertainment offerings from a creative and production point of view.
  4. Prepare executive presentations and update content as required.
  5. Lead brainstorming sessions across the business to ensure concepts capture a wide range of ideas.
  6. Create and implement successful audition and casting strategies in a multicultural environment with a diverse range of talent needs.
  7. Develop and maintain strong global relationships within the talent community, creative agents, managers, etc. to effectively build and maintain a solid, ongoing, and diverse talent pool.
  8. Develop and maintain strong global relationships within the entertainment production/vendor industry to help deliver the best entertainment product while maximizing budget resources.
  9. Book relevant talent for special events across Miral’s portfolio of properties.
  10. Work directly with venue Entertainment Operations to identify and fill talent needs to ensure successful 365-day operating calendar of live entertainment.
  11. Create and implement a formal and ongoing show quality/show note feedback system to help ensure and maintain a high level of performance standards.
  12. Responsible for managing budgets, schedules, design, development, build, and delivery of new shows, events, and projects across Miral Properties.
  13. Leads and executes Entertainment special events to include marquee and seasonal celebrations, corporate functions, birthday parties, sports events, team buildings, and other events promoted by the company as required.
  14. Works with Entertainment teams and interdepartmental partners as an active participant, guaranteeing a high level of performance and production values for entertainment offerings.
  15. Liaises with Marketing on a regular basis to ensure events are represented properly and on time in the market.
  16. Provides management and operational coverage at Entertainment events and at shows/venues as requested.
  17. Develops show and Event production management systems and distributes reports.
  18. Maintains a shared portfolio of vendors and suppliers in conjunction with the parks via Procurement.
  19. Manages external suppliers and production companies to ensure shows and events are delivered on time and to high standards with Miral Policies.
  20. Works with the teams to create and update entertainment asset inventories.
  21. Manages and maintains Entertainment owned event assets in each required facility ensuring tidiness of areas such as warehouse, green rooms, and other back of house Entertainment earmarked spaces.
  22. Ensures Entertainment storage areas are maintained, kept clean and organized and assets are properly labeled and accounted for in inventory levels.
  23. Manages Entertainment Procurement schedules (liaises with Procurement) to ensure events and shows open on time.
  24. Financial responsibilities include project budget creation, execution, procurement and purchasing, tracking and reporting observed company policies and delegation of authority.
  25. Organizes and runs production meetings, debrief and other meetings as required to both internal and external stakeholders.
  26. Works hand in hand with Marketing and other relevant departments to ensure strategic, tactical and core activations align with business objectives and KPI targets.
  27. Assembles project/event production books and documentation for both working use and historical archival.
  28. Creates installation and de-rig and event run schedules as requested and maintains schedules, updating them and stakeholders when changes take place.
  29. Supports production and events rehearsals as needed.
  30. Oversees installation, execution, and de-rig of shows/events, to include hands-on work as required.
  31. Takes part in coaching and counselling matters and provides guidance and mentorship to Entertainment colleagues to assist in developing bench strength and succession plans.
  32. Acts as entertainment manager on duty and Vice President Entertainment as requested.
  33. Compile periodic rate competitiveness and comparisons.
  34. Offer input into event improvements: effectiveness and efficiencies.
  35. Occasional international travel as required. Additional duties as reasonably requested by senior management.

Desired candidate profile

  • Higher Secondary or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years in theme park, Entertainment, events and/or large-scale productions.
  • Working knowledge of industry safety standards and codes; industry trends and vendors.
  • Creative Design & Development.
  • Show & Event production experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and related construction/design documents.
  • Leadership skills; computer skills; proficiency in English.
  • Ability to call events and shows; report creating and distribution; schedules creation and execution; development of show/events manuals.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the arts or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any technical Theatre discipline.
  • 15 years of experience in the entertainment and theme park industry.
  • 5 years recent experience working client-side in the events industry.
  • Stage management experience; lighting, sound and projection programming; winch operation; rigging; video editing; music knowledge; project management.
