In this role, you will assist the Director of Product execute product strategy through various operational tasks. This includes gathering and analyzing market data, developing product features, managing day-to-day aspects of the product lifecycle, and coordinating timely product launches. By effectively implementing product plans, you will focus on maintaining product quality and supporting business growth.
Strategy:
Assist in developing an annual product plan aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Conduct market research to identify new product development trends, gaps, and opportunities.
Collaborate with the Director of Product and other stakeholders to support product growth and expansion.
Ensure the product portfolio meets the needs of various market segments, including Leisure, MICE, Cruise, and Retail.
Work with the marketing team to create communication plans that align with the product strategy.
Execution:
Source existing products that meet the needs of various international and domestic markets, incorporating feedback from the sales team.
Deliver package itineraries, including essential experiences, tailored to different market needs and lengths of stay.
Train sales team members in HQ and overseas offices on product features and benefits, ensuring effective product knowledge transfer.
Foster collaboration across departments to identify joint product opportunities and innovative ideas.
Facilitate product brainstorming sessions to encourage creativity and new solutions.
Work closely with sales to understand client needs and incorporate feedback into product development.
Conduct competitor analysis to understand market positioning and identify unique selling propositions.
Provide input on technical requirements for new product features and enhancements.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on product performance, market trends, and supplier activities.
Analyze data to identify opportunities for product improvement and business growth.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Director of Product.
Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidates should have:
Degree in tourism, business, marketing, or something similar.
3+ years’ experience in Product development role (tour operator, OTA, DMC).
Prior knowledge of the set-up of tourism products.
Customer-centric approach with a deep understanding of market needs.
Solid knowledge of the DMC/Tour operators/Travel Agent Product requirements.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strategic planning and execution capabilities.
Ethics, compliance, and governance standards.
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
Experience in launching products for start-up DMCs.
