Senior Planning Engineer

Job Description:

Project Brief:

The Sr. Planning Engineer will be responsible for supporting the engineering team to deliver projects on schedule. He should ensure that the project schedules and deliveries are on time, as per the scope and project budget. The scope is to create and implement plans that assist the engineering team in achieving the project schedules.

Responsibilities:

1. Involve in planning and monitoring of all activities within the engineering projects programs.
2. Assist in analyzing project specifications and finding cost-effective ways to achieve the deliverables.
3. Prepare the baseline program, schedules, milestones, and deliverables as per project management plan.
4. Prepare full projects portfolio plan (80 plus projects) in coordination with project managers and vendors.
5. Analyze technical drawings and provide durations and milestones and overall project plan accordingly.
6. Prepare look ahead plan for the execution team.
7. Generate and update progress reports of the project on a weekly or monthly basis.
8. Able to do critical path analysis at project, program, and portfolio levels.
9. Prepare forecasted cash flow for projects and portfolio and report on actual vs planned spends and progress.
10. Identify project program risks and propose mitigation strategies.
11. Monitor the cash flow and track the schedule of the project.
12. Prepare forecasts resulting from significant deviations from scheduled baselines.
13. Track and analyze field results based on the planned progress and actual progress.
14. Determine and develop the most suitable methods for the projects.
15. Involve throughout the development stage of the projects and present at site during the construction phase to oversee procedures.
16. Estimate a timescale for the projects and ensure that the outlined deadlines are met.
17. Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent degree.
2. Minimum 8-10 years experience in the construction field.
3. Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
4. Planning and project management skills and software.
5. Strong technical knowledge.
6. Strong problem-solving skills.
