Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in determining and developing the most suitable, economically viable construction and engineering methods for project(s) and responsible for the overall evaluation and control of the assigned project schedules and performs schedule development, maintenance and monitoring of the planning/scheduling activities without any supervisory oversight.
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules for building and high-rise buildings, including residential and infrastructure and road projects, using industry-standard tools.
  • Prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations as requested and check and confirm that the correct scope of work is reflected on assigned schedules.
  • Review planning and scheduling of work to ensure that activities are effectively planned, resourced, and completed.
  • Develop specific project codes of accounts and work breakdown structures, and recommend appropriate modifications and revisions for new work items assigned.
  • Check and review the most appropriate method and sequence of construction operations prepared by the Planning Engineer for a particular project, in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Establish and implement methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialties.
  • Determine critical-path activities for assigned disciplines or specialties and identify significant activities supporting inter-discipline requirements and identify critical path for discipline or specialty work activities.
  • Review schedule data, identify and acquire information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines, specialties, and/or projects.
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor schedule deviations for assigned disciplines or specialties including contractor submittals and recommend corrective action/work-around solutions for project considerations.
  • Develop and write the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports. Identify and report activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepare and present the Critical Items Action Report.
  • Prepare and develop the master schedule for construction projects and the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for each project.
  • Perform critical path analysis and identify areas of concern.
  • Experience in managing claims & dispute.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports in the format agreed & highlight problems, obstacles, shortages and suggest recommendations.
  • Arrange regular site meetings to monitor performance and progress.
  • Maintain project records in a classified and retrievable form covering the various aspects of work and construction contracts.
  • Awareness of local authorities' requirements and their procedures.
  • Awareness of specialized works / post-tension, steel, façade, finishing, etc., sequence of works and their planning.

Requirements:

  • Master /Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in planning and scheduling, with significant exposure to infrastructure and road projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera latest version + other technologies.
  • Previously used document management and project control software.
  • Planning and project management skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Experience dealing with claims.
  • Experience in infrastructure and building projects is an advantage.
  • Willingness to relocate or commute to Ajman.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certificates from AACEI or similar on planning is a plus.
