Senior Planning Engineer

Lead and supervise the Planning and relevant teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards and budget constraints.

Job Duties

Planning Activities

1. Develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, for EPC pipeline projects.
2. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure project objectives are met.
3. Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may impact the project's success.
4. Lead and manage a team of planners and schedulers, providing guidance and support to ensure project milestones are achieved.
5. Utilize project management software and tools to track and report on project status, ensuring accurate and timely communication with all stakeholders.
6. Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to integrate project plans with design and construction activities, ensuring alignment with project goals.
7. Conduct regular project reviews and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize project performance.
8. Provide input and support for project proposals, including cost estimates, schedules, claims and counter claims, EOT and resource requirements.
9. Stay current with industry best practices and trends in project planning and management, applying new methodologies and tools as appropriate.
10. Effectively manage project risks and schedule variances along with delay analysis.
11. Communicate effectively with project teams, management, and clients to ensure alignment and understanding of project plans and objectives.
12. Provide regular reports and updates on project status, milestones achieved, and any deviations from the planned schedule.
13. Identify and analyze potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.

Team Management

1. Perform various responsibilities related to team management including hiring, setting goals, managing absence, reviewing performance, coaching, deciding on merit increases and promotional opportunities, taking disciplinary actions, and resolving grievances and conflicts.

General

1. Carry out other similar duties that can be defined within the broad functional job and functional responsibilities outlined above and as instructed by the immediate manager.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in pipeline construction project planning management, with a focus on planning and scheduling for mega pipeline construction projects.
3. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
4. Strong understanding of construction project planning, scheduling, and coordination.
5. Experience in managing large and complex construction projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
6. Certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI or similar credentials, is preferred.
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
