Job Description
Wood is currently hiring PMC Senior Piping Engineer with extensive offshore experience to be based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Responsibilities
- Continuous promotion of, and adherence to, the discipline specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Support the development and delivery of the technical assurance framework.
- Monitor compliance with competence standards.
- Participate in incident investigations as required.
- Set performance expectations for direct reports.
- Actively maintaining own competence and continuous development.
- Provide discipline support to the business.
- Ensuring learning opportunities are captured and realized.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation.
- Proficient in scope definition.
- Provide technical leadership and decision making for Piping engineering work carried out by the EPC contractors.
- Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary.
- Provide technical assistance, direction, and support during the construction and installation activities.
- Liaise and report to the Client's Senior Management on Piping Engineering Progress and Issues.
- Trouble-shooting the Piping design, identifying and resolving issues with engineering and/or fabricator by raising and resolution of Site/Technical Queries.
- Attend daily/weekly engineering progress meetings and generate status reports as required.
- Management of Change process including review of proposals.
- Assist construction personnel with general technical queries and details.
- Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Provide resolution for technical Piping engineering problems, coordinates application of solutions.
- Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
- Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the piping discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in GCC region.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position in mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects. Upstream Offshore EPC projects experience is a must.
