JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Designer E3D focusing on piping design and engineering for a major onshore brownfield project in Sharjah, UAE on a 6 weeks on /2 weeks off rotation cycle.
This is a full-time onsite position in Sharjah, UAE, with possible travel.
RESPONSIBILITIESThe roleThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Piping Designer E3D to join our UAE Business Unit.
Our Clients and ProjectsWood has been awarded an Onshore Brownfield project to support an International Client operation for delivering FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Services. This project focuses on enhancing degassing stations, optimizing flare systems, and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key ObjectivesPiping Design and Engineering- Develop and review piping designs, including P&IDs, piping isometrics, and layout drawings.
- Utilize E3D software for 3D modeling and design.
- Ensure compliance with industry, international, and client codes and standards.
Site Survey and Data Gathering- Conduct extensive site surveys to gather data on existing piping infrastructure and facilities.
- Identify and document site constraints and potential design clashes.
- Verify site measurements and ensure the accuracy of design data.
Construction Support and Coordination- Liaise with construction supervisors and contractors to resolve day-to-day issues.
- Attend daily/weekly progress meetings and generate status reports.
- Review and acceptance of final mechanical system handover documentation.
- Conduct first-level quality assurance to ensure installations meet plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Safety and Environmental- Collaborate with construction management to eliminate hazards affecting the environment, safety, or health.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONSExpected:- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and certification in Piping Engineering.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in piping design and engineering, with emphasis on brownfield projects.
- Proficient in E3D, AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with flare systems and oil and gas industry standards.
