Senior Network Architect

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced network solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network architecture blueprints and documentation.
• Lead network design and architecture reviews, providing expert guidance and recommendations.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to define network strategies and roadmaps.
• Oversee the integration of new technologies and the migration of legacy systems.
• Ensure network security, performance, and reliability through strategic planning and proactive management.
• Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and service providers to optimize network services and support. Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Network Administration Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure the network can handle future growth and emerging technologies.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to network infrastructure.
• Develop and enforce network policies, standards, and best practices.
• Coordinate with the cybersecurity team to implement and maintain robust security measures
• Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to enhance network operations and performance.
• Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, aggregators, switches, WIFI controllers, and firewalls.
• Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints.
• Provide network and host based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration.
• Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
• Provision Internet services, 3G /4G services for clients, Providing Drydocks network to on-board based on requirement.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement and manage network infrastructure changes, including hardware and software upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
• Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for reference and compliance.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the network architecture.
• Perform network performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and efficiency.
• Coordinate and oversee network maintenance activities, including firmware updates and patch management.
• Conduct root cause analysis for network outages and implement corrective actions.
• Provide support for escalated network issues and serve as the highest point of technical escalation.
• Helping and maintaining level 1 support along with L3 support.
• Data Centre Management and Infrastructure requirement and management arrangement.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Computer Network Systems and troubleshooting.
• 10+ years relevant experience in a large organization.
• Thorough knowledge in implementing, administering, installation and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications.
• Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and possess an understanding of how to support these applications / protocols when accessed through VPN and firewall appliances.
• Comfortable documenting and explaining network topologies.
• Strong background with resolution of technical issues during planning and execution phases.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with departmental / project objectives.
• Deep understanding of network architecture and design principles.
• Expertise in routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Proficiency in network security technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN).
• Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of network management tools and monitoring systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
• Having Technical knowledge to prepare and handle audit.
• Network infrastructure and Data Centre infrastructure management.
