Primary Objective

To ensure Offshore Pipeline design integrity is not compromised while managing the execution of the project. Carry out Front End Design engineering for Pipeline design activities, including coordination with various discipline groups.

Specific Accountabilities

Duties will include the following:

1. Experience in preparation of Offshore Pipeline Design documents independently and complete the design activities within specified schedule & budget.
2. Shall work under the supervision of Lead engineer for the project with effective communication with Engineers and Designers.
3. Should be able to guide Engineers & Designers on technical and non-technical issues towards effective solutions.
4. Capable of executing multiple tasks and delivering it efficiently within specified schedule.
5. Experience in working on Subsea pipeline design activities (Mandatory Requirement) such as:
1. Preparation of Offshore Pipeline Basis of Design document.
2. Offshore Pipeline Route selection studies.
3. Pipeline Coating Selection studies.
4. Offshore Pipeline Wall thickness design as per DNV OS F 101 (Latest code).
5. Offshore Pipeline Expansion Analysis.
6. On-Bottom Stability studies (As per DNV RP F 109 latest DNV Code and hands-on experience in executing DNV's STABLELINES Software).
7. Offshore Pipeline FREE span analysis (As per DNV RP F 105 latest DNV Code and hands-on experience in executing DNV's FATFREE Software).
8. Offshore Pipeline Cathodic protection studies (As per Latest DNV RP F 103).
9. Offshore Pipeline crossing analysis using CAESAR II software.
10. Offshore Pipeline crossing support design.
11. On-bottom roughness analysis using OFFPIPE software.
12. Offshore Pipeline and Riser protection studies.
13. Riser Flexibility stress analysis including VIV studies.
14. Riser Fatigue design studies (As per Latest DNV Codes).
15. Pipeline laying and Riser installation studies using OFFPIPE software.
16. Subsea Pipeline Upheaval and Lateral Buckling analysis (Detail Global Buckling Analysis using ABAQUS FEM software is preferred and gives an added advantage).
17. Preparation of Subsea Pipeline Material and Construction specifications.
18. Construction and Procurement support.
19. Shall have experience in preparation of Material requisition, Technical bid evaluation and Purchase requisitions.
20. Offshore Pipeline Material, Construction associated Cost estimation.
21. Specific knowledge on Waves mechanics and Structural dynamics related to Offshore Pipeline analysis & Design is a must.
22. Design and Review of Offshore Pipeline drawings including:
1. Pipeline Route drawings.
2. Pipeline Overall Field layout.
3. Pipeline Platform approach drawings.
4. Pipeline Alignment sheets.
5. Riser General arrangement drawings.
6. Pipeline crossing drawings.
7. Anode detail drawings.
23. Technical discussions with the client, project manager and other discipline leads.

Essential Skills/Experience

Engineering Degree in Mechanical / Civil (Structural) discipline.

Working experience in an engineering consultancy in a multidiscipline environment.

Relevant years of design experience in the Offshore Pipeline Design with experience in FEED and detailed design of Oil and Gas pipelines.

Good understanding of relevant international codes & standards e.g. DNV, API, ASME, NACE, BS etc.

Good communication and technical writing skills in English language.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.

Good Team Player and active contributor in developing creative solutions to optimize work delivery.

Computer skills particularly in the use of DNV Software's STABLINES & FATFREE, CEASER II software and knowledge of MS Office, Math Cad, etc.

Knowledge and hands-on experience of ABAQUS will be an added advantage.

Experience on Middle East (particularly ADMA-OPCO / ZADCO/ QP) offshore projects will be an advantage.
