Job Overview:

Here's your chance to step into the role of Senior Manager – Strategy at DHE. In this position, you'll take on key responsibilities that include:

Strategy and Leadership

  • Support the ED-Strategy in preparing and updating the 5-year strategy and business plan for the company in conjunction with relevant business units and departments.
  • Conduct periodic competitive assessment of the leisure and entertainment industry in the UAE and the region and keep the management team informed about the latest trends in the industry, pricing and product offerings of competitors, launch of new projects, and performance of competitors.
  • Preparation of feasibility studies to assess the commercial viability of new concepts and projects, including:
  • Market research on benchmark projects, leisure and entertainment industry, and general economic environment.
  • Using benchmarks to prepare revenue and cost assumptions.
  • Preparing 5–10-year P&L forecasts.
  • Determining project returns based on NPV, IRR, and other analyses.
  • Support ED-Strategy in monitoring from a strategic perspective the performance of various assets under the portfolio and raise any concerns/issues for resolution at appropriate times.
  • Support ED-Strategy in driving and formalizing the company’s strategic-planning processes, establishing new working relationships and synergies across the organization and establishing greater transparency and accountability for people carrying out the company’s strategy.
  • Lead the strategic and business planning activities across DHE and ensure coordination with all departments so that the corporate strategy is translated into clear business plans and actionable initiatives.
  • Complete all strategic initiatives tracking on a monthly and quarterly basis to report to the parent organization.
  • Secretarial responsibilities of JV Boards and other committees, as required by the Management Team.
  • Any other duties may be reasonably requested by the Management Team.

Operational

  • Build analytical models and business cases; perform regular financial, competitive, performance, and market analyses to evaluate and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Establish KPIs that the business will measure performance against and determine the effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
  • Support the approval process for new projects/investments including preparation of relevant business plans, memos, presentations, etc. and presenting as required to the relevant management committee tasked with review and approval of new projects/investment requests.

About you:

The preferred candidate for this role should possess the following experience and credentials:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years professional working experience in Hospitality, Tourism, Government, or Theme Park industry.
  • Degree in Business Administration and/or Hospitality Management.
  • Robust understanding of revenue management frameworks and strategies.
  • Strong understanding of visitation channel and segment mix for entertainment attractions and/or hotels.
  • Advanced understanding of reservation/ticketing systems (knowledge of VGS would be a major advantage).
  • Proactive, passionate, action-oriented, and result-driven.
  • Organized, disciplined, dedicated, loyal, and a self-starter.
  • Focused, energetic, and flexible.
  • Fluent in English in addition to the language spoken in the specific geographical area.
  • Must possess top-level business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • High level of commercial & decision-making skills.
  • Presentation and public speaking attributes.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications and using smartphones and iPads for taking notes, presentations, and emails.
