Senior Manager - Programmes, Development and Communications (Emirati Talent)

The Senior Manager of Development, Programmes, and Communications is responsible for helping the DP World Foundation deliver its strategic mission to create safer, smarter and more sustainable communities through community-based programmes, philanthropy and team member volunteerism.

Carry out actions in building partnerships, supporting donor engagements, and creating proposals for grants offered by domestic/international institutions, corporate foundations, and other sources.

Working alongside and reporting to the Head of Programme, Development & Communication, they will help define the next phase of the DP World Foundation programme, including, but not limited to, regional & local programme development and leadership, community group engagement, internal stakeholder coordination, programme marketing and communications, company representation within our communities, reporting and accountability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and guide junior-level staff as they plan newly established fundraising, cultivation, donor appreciation and charity activities, and communication initiatives.
  • Lead collaboration with division teams to coordinate a variety of aspects of special events, including communications, online event landing page, etc.
  • Serve as a mentor to other Special Programmes team members as they plan various fundraising events.
  • Building from an existing framework of principles and mission, help build, grow and execute a multi-year programme to deliver safe, smart and health value to communities in need across the country and targeted Regions.
  • Work with outside partners while bringing their own experience developing and executing similar programs and communication strategies that reach communities to engage in and support community humanitarian services improvement.
  • Coordinate and work with internal team to ensure new partnership goals are synchronized with organisational goals.
  • Identify opportunities to curate programmes/projects that promote giving from donor funds, including research on community gaps, meeting charities and performing due diligence on charities and programme evaluation.
  • Ensure that all gifts and grants are properly documented and that an efficient tracking system is maintained for prospective and current donors and grantees.
  • Coordinate, support and direct the company & communities volunteer activities including related communication efforts in collaboration with local and regional company leaders and outside organisations with whom DP World Foundation can partner to make the most impact through volunteerism.
  • Monitor CSR/Corporate Responsibility issues in the media, and keep up to date with professional fundraising associations and media regarding fundraising tools and skills development.
  • Contribute and participate in developing and managing DP World Foundation's strategy for raising money from Corporates.
  • Hold regular face-to-face/virtual donor visits and bring prospects/donors closer to the organisation through meaningful engagement.
  • Develop and manage a donor pipeline of prospects and proposals, and fundraising contacts and engagement in database.
  • Provide advice, guidance and constructive feedback to internal stakeholders on DP World Foundation fundraising success and ensure a culture of philanthropy is fostered.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support the Foundation's objectives, ensuring alignment with the overall mission and goals.
  • Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, handling inquiries, and building relationships with key media outlets.
  • Oversee the creation of content for the Foundation's website, social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to enhance visibility and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication platforms.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
  • Reduce Department's Risks by closing all audit findings from different entities in line with the agreed deadlines related to section.
  • Ensure implementation of ISO procedures and requirements with respect to section.
  • Participate in annual Budget plan for the Department/Section.
  • Contribute in achievement of Department objectives by executing / achieving the KPIs assigned by line manager.
  • Assess manpower requirements for the department, interview and induct employees into the department.
  • Assess training needs for the team and ensure that the team is fully capable to meet the job requirements.
  • Set goals for your team, monitor performance, and report results.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in roles directly related to the duties defined within this job description.
  • Strong people leader - the candidate must be able to successfully motivate, educate and manage large numbers of people at multiple seniority levels across organisations.
  • Event production background ranging from small volunteer-type activities to larger experiences with many attendees strongly preferred.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, communication and speaking capabilities.
  • Strong strategy and planning capabilities.
  • Experience directing agency work, including communication campaigns, from within a nonprofit or corporation preferred.
  • Creative thinker with novel approaches to solving challenges driven to improve, seek out new tech and trends constantly.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, identify the next task and complete work on time and error-free.
  • Strong understanding or knowledge of fundraising and grant/proposal writing.
  • Require hands-on experience with development functions (preferably in NGOs) with an ability to act strategically and work independently with ownership.
  • Able to distill key points from large amounts of information, tailor presentations to different audiences, and able to communicate processes with colleagues.
