Job Overview:
The IT Partner will work with one or more BUs to identify, prioritise and lead the delivery of a number of projects in the same capability area that form one program e.g. Assets. The role requires influencing, coordinating and facilitating.
Manage the overall program, and monitor/report progress, define and execute DHRE’s roadmap, working closely with a team of Project Managers, other stakeholders and 3rd parties.
Effectively manage scope and dependencies.
Identify risks and issues and proactively resolve/mitigate them.
Ensure that the program is delivered to time, cost, and quality.
The IT Partner will ensure that business outcomes are defined, approved, and delivered.
Be responsible for defining and measuring benefits realization on behalf of sponsor.
Create and ensure ongoing strong governance, and ensure that timely decisions are taken.
Key Accountabilities:
Oversee program, projects, and related activities, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and scope, while organizing and monitoring interconnected projects to ensure effective execution and delivery.
Develop, maintain, and revise proposals for assigned programs, including objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing, to align with program goals and requirements.
Manage program milestones and address unforeseen delays by adjusting schedules and expectations as needed, ensuring projects remain on track and meet deadlines.
Develop business cases and define how to realize business-partner value through effective program execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Create and implement communication plans for programs, providing regular status updates to affected staff and stakeholders to maintain transparency and engagement.
Collect and analyze trends, prepare program status reports, and present findings to inform decision-making and drive program success.
Define project objectives, scope, roles, and responsibilities to ensure clear expectations and deliverables, aligning with overall project goals.
Determine resource requirements and manage the availability and allocation of both internal and third-party resources to support project execution.
Independently manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring all phases are executed effectively and meet project goals.
Set budgets and timelines for projects, monitor deliverables, and ensure alignment with established goals, facilitating successful project outcomes.
Prepare comprehensive program plans, scheduling key milestones, workstreams, and activities to drive project progress and ensure timely delivery.
Regularly update business stakeholders and team members on program progress to maintain transparency and address any concerns.
Communicate effectively and regularly with program stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any issues that may arise.
Support the program manager in ensuring the overall successful delivery of the program, including addressing any issues that arise to achieve program objectives.
Create long- and short-term plans, set targets for milestones, and adhere to deadlines to drive program success and ensure timely completion.
Act as the point of contact for teams working on the same project to ensure coordinated actions and synergy, facilitating effective teamwork.
Serve as the business-area function representative and subject-matter advisor when required, providing expert guidance and support.
Communicate with executives or the board to ensure the project remains aligned with organizational goals and objectives, addressing strategic concerns.
Adjust project schedules and targets as necessary based on changes in needs or financing to stay on course and meet project goals.
Coordinate with cross-functional team members to ensure all parties meet project requirements, deadlines, and schedules, promoting effective collaboration.
Meet with program team members to identify and resolve issues, ensuring smooth project execution and minimizing disruptions.
Prepare status reports by gathering, analysing, and summarizing relevant information to provide updates on project progress and facilitate informed decision-making.
Establish and execute effective project communication plans to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate change requests, ensuring all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget, and adjusting plans as necessary.
Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents necessary for successful implementation and transition to clients, supporting effective use and adoption.
Obtain stakeholder acceptance of program deliverables to ensure project outcomes meet expectations and satisfy business needs.
Manage user satisfaction during the program activities transition period to ensure a smooth handover and address any concerns.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful elements and areas for improvement, driving continuous improvement in future projects.
Manage business-partner compliments and complaints to drive continuous improvement in program delivery and enhance stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications, Experiences, Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master Degree preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) for formal project management skills.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar for security-related knowledge (optional based on focus area) - preferred.
Thorough understanding of Program Management Techniques.
Job Specific Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
Able to present and discuss at various levels and functions, including CXOs.
Highly proficient in Program and Project Management principles, methods, techniques, and tools.
Highly numerate, with strong financial management.
Microsoft Project Online.
Experience of working to introduce agile/SCRUM into organizations.
Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
Time Management - Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
