Senior Manager Flight Operations & Innovation

At Etihad, we are redefining aviation through innovation, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. As we continue to optimise Flight Operations, we are seeking a strategic leader to drive fuel efficiency, cost optimisation, and operational innovation.

As Senior Manager – Flight Operations Innovation & Efficiency, you will lead fuel-saving initiatives, manage operational budgets, and drive automation and innovation projects. You will collaborate across departments to develop data-driven insights, financial models, and efficiency strategies, ensuring Flight Operations remain cost-effective, sustainable, and forward-thinking.

Accountabilities

1. Lead the Fuel Efficiency team, identifying and implementing fleet-wide optimisation initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders.
2. Manage budgeting and cost control, working closely with the Finance BP to align operational expenses and develop financial models.
3. Drive innovation and automation projects, identifying opportunities for digital transformation and process improvements.
4. Provide operational analytics support, using data-driven insights to solve complex financial and operational challenges.
5. Represent Flight Operations in corporate initiatives, regulatory discussions, and executive steering committees.
6. Collaborate and consult with internal and external SMEs, regulators, and industry partners.
7. Lead & develop presentations and executive-level reports for senior leadership (C-suite).

Education & Experience

1. At least 10 years of relevant experience.
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher.
3. Proven leadership in fuel efficiency, financial modelling, and strategic project management.
4. Knowledge of procurement processes and emerging airline technologies, automation, and digital transformation trends.
5. Strong understanding of data science principles, performance measurement, and IFRS financial accounting.
6. Advanced Excel modelling and data analytics skills.
7. Project management skills (PMO function) or experience delivering complex aviation projects.
8. Knowledge of local and international Civil Aviation Regulations is desirable.
9. Flight Operations experience within a commercial airline is desirable.
