Job Responsibilities:
Design and develop new lubricant formulations to meet specific performance and regulatory requirements.
Conduct experiments to optimize existing formulations for improved performance or cost-effectiveness.
Perform physical and chemical tests on lubricants to evaluate properties such as viscosity, thermal stability, and oxidation resistance.
Analyze results using statistical methods and make recommendations based on data.
Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and quality of lubricant products.
Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards.
Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technologies that could enhance product performance.
Collaborate with other scientists and engineers on innovative projects.
Maintain detailed records of experiments, formulations, and test results.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and customers.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all lab activities.
Implement best practices for laboratory safety and waste disposal.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and sales, to support product development and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or Masters Degree preferred.
Previous experience in lubricant formulation or related chemical products.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing methods specific to lubricants.
Strong understanding of physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and tribology.
Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
Ability to troubleshoot formulation issues and recommend effective solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with teams.
High level of accuracy in experiments and documentation.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Lubrication Specialist) can be advantageous.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
