Senior Legal Counsel - Policies (Arabic Speaking / Emiratisation)

Charterhouse is working with an organization that supports Dubai's vision globally by empowering businesses. Our client is looking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel, to be based in Dubai.

About the Role

This role is an excellent overseas opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a dynamic team where the Senior Legal Counsel will provide support to all tasks related to policy advocacy including:

1. Analysing complex issues
2. Comparing, translating, interpreting advocacy issues
3. Reviewing drafts of new laws or amendments of existing laws
4. Identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, policies, processes and practices considering international leading practices to improve productivity and operational efficiency

This role will work side by side with the Senior Manager in the policy advocacy functions and activities which contribute to creating a favourable business environment in line with the client vision and strategic objectives, including department reports, processes & business plans to support achieving objectives of the department.

Additionally, the Senior Legal Counsel will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality services.

About you

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Master's degree in a relevant field, as well as established knowledge of policy making & policy advocacy processes. Fluency in Arabic and English, both verbal and written, is mandatory for this role. Our client has a preference for candidates with +6 years of experience with a special focus on civil law, common law, and local law. The ideal candidate should be committed, resilient, passionate about law, and dedicated. Preference will be given to candidates who are immediately available or on short notice.
