Senior Legal Counsel Litigations

Legal Support Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support across all relevant areas, with a focus on insurance matters
• Monitor court and legal claims brought against GIG Gulf
• Provide continual updates on the status of each case to the respective Business areas
• Receive new cases against GIG Gulf, forward said cases to external lawyers for appointment
• Record and file all cases held within GIG Gulf in the Litigation Tool
• Assure monitoring of the spend and review of the assignment of the cases to external Lawyers according to legal budget
• Assure periodical review of the performance of the law firms appointed
• Support the claims teams (PL and EB) on pre-litigation on medium large losses
• Support on writing POA, letters and any other legal documents
• Support on licenses’ renewal and interaction with the relevant authorities in the UAE (DED, UAECB, RTA, etc.)
• Support on matters related to Traffic Department and Police

Operational & Technical Responsibilities:

• Master the local and international regulation (i.e. DFC / ADGM)
• Knowledge on General Insurance, Health Insurance and Claims management
• Understanding of salvage and auction processes, recovery, and total losses
• Complaints management
• Master English and Arabic
• Ability to interact in autonomy with Directors and Exco members
