Senior Software Engineer - Java - Abu Dhabi

We are looking to make a crucial hire for a start-up based in Abu Dhabi that we have partnered with! Our client is building IoT devices with a focus on helping businesses manage their sustainability. Product development, greenfield, building an impactful product from scratch. If you are a vastly experienced Java Engineer with experience in start-ups, building SaaS applications, this one is for you.

Must be located in the UAE and have local experience

Must be able to start in December

What You'll Do:

• Create REST APIs that are secure and well-documented
• Focus on scalability and efficiency
• Work in a cross-functional team, collaborating with frontend developers and data scientists
• Migrate microservices from Python (FastAPI, Flask) to Java
• Build distributed systems utilizing Kafka
• Build backend services leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
• Collaborate closely with DevOps
• Develop SaaS applications and ensure secure data isolation across multi-customer SaaS environments

What You Need:

• 8 years of experience working on Java, Springboot, REST APIs
• Background working in small, cross-functional teams in start-ups
• 4+ years of experience working with Kafka
• Strong background in AWS
• Strong skills with Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to multi-customer SaaS applications
• Strong SQL knowledge
• Knowledge of Python, FastAPI, Flask
