Senior Investment Accountant – Single Family Office, Dubai – PLACED
An exciting and exclusive opportunity has become available with a new Single-Family Office in Dubai. After decades of vast success in the Manufacturing Industry, this family is in the process of carving out a new, dedicated Single-Family Office from their operating business and are looking for a Senior Investment Accountant to join their team.
This Senior Investment Accountant is a key hire for their Family Office as they will be working with internal and external stakeholders, as well as multiple members of the family, to help establish their financial reporting processes and infrastructure.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
Investment Accounting:
Maintain and update the general ledger for all investment-related transactions, including equities, bonds, private equity, real estate, and alternative investments.
Track and reconcile investment activities, including capital calls, distributions, dividends, and interest income.
Post journal entries and ensure accurate financial records for all investment holdings.
Prepare periodic financial statements and investment reports for the family office and individual family members.
Consolidate financial data from various investment accounts, trusts, and partnerships.
Provide analysis and commentary on portfolio performance, including profit/loss, cash flow projections, and returns.
Assist in preparing reports for external auditors and tax advisors.
Compliance and Taxation:
Monitor compliance with local and international regulations, including investment policies and tax laws.
Collaborate with legal, tax, and external advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting for investments.
Support the preparation and filing of tax returns related to investment income.
Investment Analysis and Support:
Assist with due diligence and financial analysis of new investment opportunities.
Provide support in monitoring and evaluating the performance of investment managers, advisors, and funds.
Participate in investment meetings and provide accounting insights.
Relationship Management:
Serve as a liaison between the family office, external investment managers, financial institutions, and custodians.
Coordinate with financial planners, legal advisors, and other professionals to ensure cohesive wealth management strategies.
The Right Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CFA designation preferred.
Demonstrable experience in accounting, preferably within investments or wealth management.
Strong understanding of financial instruments, including equities, bonds, private equity, and alternative investments.
High attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data.
Strong Excel and Power BI skills for reporting purposes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with family members and external advisors.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the duties and demands of the role and the experience of the candidate.
