To conduct Internal Audits at Branches and Head Office as per the approved audit program and defined guidelines by IIA. Will ensure the accuracy of audit procedures, and lead the engagements independently.
Key Accountabilities
Auditing at Branches / Head Office
Perform audit procedures as per the audit program including physical cash counts at the branches located in different emirates.
Prepare working papers with sufficient evidences to ascertain whether audit procedures were completed and to support audit findings / recommendations.
Discuss and agree findings / recommendations with the respective process owners or Branch Management.
Draft audit report as per the agreed report template and timely communicate the findings to the process owners and the senior management.
Perform monthly follow-ups on the open audit findings with the relevant process owner.
Perform risk assessment by discussing with the process owner and review risk register.
Assist in updating internal audit charter, internal audit manual, audit committee charter and any other administrative work assigned by the audit manager.
Implement and manage a risk-based audit approach, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, particularly CBUAE guidelines.
Conduct detailed audit engagements relevant to operations, capital adequacy, ensuring internal controls relevant to the process of cash handling, account reconciliation, and financial transactions.
Collaborate with line manager on strategic planning, risk management, and achieving departmental objectives.
Collaborate with outsourced service/assurance providers where possible.
Continuously update audit programs to reflect operational changes and evolving regulatory requirements.
Supervise work of other audit team members such as working papers, tests performed etc.
Oversee antifraud framework strategies of preventive and detective measures taken by management. Investigate fraud cases when requested by management. Collaborate with key departments to see the measures taken by them to strengthen anti-fraud framework. Conduct annual fraud risk assessment annually.
Ensure all mandatory and regulatory requirements are covered in audit engagements to comply with Central Bank Standards.
Continuous Monitoring
Perform analytical reviews on periodical basis based on the set parameters;
Report identified gaps and control weaknesses to the Senior Management.
Assist in highlighting risks and implementing control improvements to Senior Management.
Other Matters
Assist in preparing audit reports, and other presentations for Board of Directors / Audit Committee / Senior Management.
Assist in preparing / updating audit universe and risk based annual audit plan.
Qualifications
Qualified CA, ACCA, CFE, CIA, CISA or other known professional Certificates relevant to Accountancy and Audit.
Graduate or higher in any related field.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum 4 - 7 years of prior experience as an Internal Auditor preferably in Exchange House / Financial Institutions in UAE.
Previous experience of conducting audits across branches/locations/functions/processes is an added advantage.
Experience of leading audit engagements.
Knowledge & Skills
In depth knowledge of Regulatory framework, audit standards and risk management.
Knowledge of computer applications and operations (including Microsoft Excel). Having knowledge of Exchange based ERP / CRM will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making capabilities.
Good interpersonal, communication and team management skills.
