Key Accountabilities of Position

1. Strong client-facing profile
2. Strong team management and leadership profile
3. Technical competence of instrument engineering personnel
4. Forecast requirement for instrument engineering resources and allocate those resources
5. Instrument design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards
6. Identify instrument software necessary to enable the instrument group to function effectively
7. Inter-discipline communication development
8. Instrument group communication development
9. Prepare instrument man-hour estimate to perform project tasks
10. Check compliance with Alliance QA/safety/environment goals
11. Promote Alliance culture in the instrument engineering group
12. Manage instrument design and any design changes within budget and schedule
13. Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable
14. Promote cost reduction and productivity-enhancing initiatives
15. Promote career development within the group
16. Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable in providing more cost-effective facilities
17. Technical supervision of project designated instrument designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties
18. Prepare weekly instrument progress and expenditure reports on a project-specific basis
19. Benchmark instrument design/drafting and identify areas of improvement
20. Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU
21. Safety – Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the BU; understand and follow OH&S procedures

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or equivalent degree associated with the discipline. Must have relevant years' experience in the area of expertise and in a similar role in major oil & gas projects.
