A Senior Immigration Consultant is expected to have excellent communication skills, and already have experience with UAE and/or GCC immigration or Consular processes and a willingness to learn and become an expert in the field. The Senior Immigration Consultant is expected to be able to manage a varied and sometimes high caseload, including cases for highly skilled migrants or intra company transfer applications or outbound business visa cases, fully and independently. In addition, the Senior Immigration Consultant is required to develop their knowledge and expertise, learn from the manager and other consultants, and follow courses/training. The Senior Immigration Consultant supports the manager and overall team by assisting with consultant case reviews, client inquiries, complex cases and sensitive clients. They will also assist the manager with office-related tasks and overall projects, as well as new opportunities and client engagements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate residence and/or work permit options based on client-provided information. For complex cases, collaborate with the Manager.
  • Respond to immigration-related inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Assist the Manager in assigning cases to consultants and managing daily operations.
  • Prepare detailed advice and insights on immigration topics, including alerts on new regulations and trends.
  • Build and maintain a network within the UAE immigration landscape.
  • Submit government forms and supporting documents in compliance with relevant authorities.
  • Coordinate legal and administrative tasks related to immigration matters for designated clients.
  • Engage in simple legal discussions about immigration matters with government agencies, colleagues, and clients, explaining basic GCC immigration laws in clear terms.
  • Offer proactive guidance to clients on potential risks, promoting Newland Chase services as a solution.
  • Maintain comprehensive files and databases with client immigration data, tracking permits, statuses, and progress through company software.
  • Assist applicants with appointment scheduling and manage the outbound visa process.
  • Work closely with visa application centers or relevant country missions to ensure timely and smooth processing of consular cases.
  • Log all activities in company software in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with international and internal stakeholders, aligning with the organization’s goals.
  • Handle sensitive client interactions with care, focusing on building positive relationships.
  • Know when to make phone calls to clients or employees to discuss matters rather than relying solely on email communication.
  • Show a strong desire to expand knowledge of immigration laws and become a subject matter expert in the field.

Communication & Feedback:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding immigration matters, seeking support from Senior Immigration Consultants when necessary.
  • Manage multiple caseloads for different clients, building a reputation as a go-to advisor for immigration and visa-related queries.
  • Set clear timelines for each case, effectively managing client expectations.

Finance:

  • Ensure accurate and timely billing for every case handled.

Reports:

  • Prepare and manage client-specific reports detailing application statuses, residence/work permit progress, fees, and ongoing actions.

Travel:

  • Be available for national travel as required for client needs or business operations.

General:

  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or equivalent (3 years university).
  • 2-5 years of experience in travel, mobility, legal, visa application centers, or immigration-related industries, or a combination of education and experience.

Language Ability (English):

  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Capable of writing detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Confident in presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, employees, and the general public.

Arabic language is a plus but is not required for the role.

Math Ability:

  • Able to perform basic mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with a focus on currency units.
  • Ability to review financial statements and assess the solvency and continuity of companies.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Skilled in solving practical problems and managing concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret varied instructions and think pragmatically, finding creative solutions when needed.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, Skype, Teams, Zoom, and immigration authority portals.
