Senior HSE Engineer

Our client is a large construction company that is currently looking for a Senior HSE Engineer who will be responsible for keeping sites free from danger, risk, or injury in the workplace; developing safety programs to minimize losses incurred due to injuries and property damage and try to eliminate unsafe practices and conditions on construction sites and throughout the project phase.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate the safety activities between the Owner/Client and Subcontractor.
2. Review and approve the Subcontractor safety program and procedures; advise and recommend any corrective actions necessary.
3. Conduct periodic safety audits in coordination with Sr. HSE Manager to ensure that the established safety program is implemented in a proper manner and submit the report to HSE department.
4. Advise and support HSE subordinates at different sites.
5. Patrol the work site periodically to verify that the work is carried out under safe conditions with no violations of safety requirements.
6. Advise promptly the Supervisors and Workers of corrective action when any unsafe conditions or violations are observed.
7. Submit accident report to Project Manager & HSE department.
8. Maintain the published safety literature, safety regulations, codes, and other communications in accordance with contract.
9. Advise management of compliance and conditions requiring attention.
10. Conduct independent audits to ensure conformance with the established safety program and determine the effectiveness of individual elements of the program.
11. Check each work procedure from the safety point of view and coordinate with his superior and project manager before commencement of work and/or while working.
12. Check on the use of all types of personal protective equipment available and in use, evaluate effectiveness, and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering (preferably in Civil but Mechanical is acceptable).
2. Good understanding of local requirements as well as ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 International Standards and general understanding of HSE field in foundation engineering.
3. 5-7 years experience in foundation engineering (piling & shoring only).
4. Work Environment: Office 20% Site 80%.
5. Duty Hours: As per site requirement.
6. WORK LOCATION DUBAI BUT WORK BEING SITE-BASED IT COULD BE BETWEEN DUBAI AND ABU DHABI.
