Read specifications, work list and pre-planning job (Sequence of job, manpower, equipment).
Participate in organizing the cutting, fabrication and installation sequences as per the priority in line with engineering inputs.
Develop detailed completion program with manpower loading.
Review Dimension Control / Fit up inspections reports and guide the team for necessary proceedings to give the best fit for welding.
Co-ordinate work progress with Project Manager, Superintendent, other trades and within the department.
Review and manage manpower request and target report prepared by foreman.
Provide work done reports and descriptions to Invoicers / Estimators.
Manage and report work progress.
Liaise with department planning section for productivity measurements as applicable.
Proactive participation in identifying errors and effective reporting through NCIR system.
Train, motivate, appraise and provide feedback on training requirements to uplift the skill of subordinates.
Attend training for activity required by the department.
Education/Skills/Qualifications:
Diploma in engineering or equivalent.
Familiarity with steel structural works with at least 5 years of experience as Foreman or in a Lead position.
Thorough knowledge in various types of steel works, steel structures and welding procedure specifications.
Possess basic knowledge of MS Office, ERP application and project management skills.
Knowledge and experience in ship repair and new building yard.
Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and other discipline-related project and engineering documentation.
