Senior Foreman - Blasting & Painting

Job Objectives

- Planning to ensure that Blasting Painting activities are conducted in a safe manner, in accordance with specifications and within the Budgeted Time and Manpower Allocation.

Day-to-day operations:

1. Work performed in accordance with specifications and work instructions.
2. Reporting progress, maintaining production records, and monitoring material usage.
3. Liaise with project manager and owner representative to ensure synchronization with other departments and meet set targets.
4. Ensuring efficient and effective manpower loading on completion program.
5. Identifying and acting upon opportunities for improvement related to work and safety matters.
6. Participate in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and assist in preparing reports.
7. Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the department/section to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
8. Motivate, direct, align, and guide the team for optimal performance, monitor performance, and provide continuous appraisal and feedback.
9. Resolve all work-related issues by finding ways to complete jobs as instructed.
10. Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices, and idleness.
11. Liaise with other discipline foremen/supervision to ensure optimum utilization of available resources for successful project completion.
12. Create progress reports daily and ensure significant information is communicated to the supervisor, such as resource shortfalls, surplus, and HSEQ concerns.
13. Provide feedback regarding performance appraisals of workers to the department manager via supervisor when required.
14. Assist the senior foreman and supervisors in planning activities.
15. Ensure that workers are properly supplied with machinery, tools, equipment, and materials, and that everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
16. Perform inspections to ensure that workers' performance meets set standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in ship repairing and new building yard.
• Sea-going experience or technical school trained.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in the Oil and Gas or shipbuilding industry, including at least 2 years in a similar role.
