Senior Fire Fighter

The Senior Fire Fighter is responsible for being on standby during their shift to respond to any emergency at AD Airports. This role involves driving the required vehicle, typically Fire Tenders, to the incident site, ensuring safety and minimizing the risk to AD Airports users, assets, and facilities. The role holder must respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies, adhering to international aviation standards.

Responsibilities

1. Drive the Fire Tender to all incidents, including fires and accidents, as quickly and safely as possible to minimize damage and impact on operational capacity.
2. Respond to hazardous materials incidents, including fuel spills, to contain their impact and follow standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of AD Airports users.
3. Respond to alarm calls, including practice and false alarms, efficiently and within the established timelines as per national and international civil aviation regulations.
4. Operate all fire and rescue vehicles as required to assist in daily operations.
5. Keep AES vehicles and appliances in good condition, ensuring no damage to any equipment and the vehicle is fully functional for emergencies.
6. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness at fire stations and ensure all facilities are in good working condition.
7. Deputize for the Sub Fire Officer in emergency situations and take command of the appropriate vehicle and team to maintain safe operations.
8. Participate in regular training and exercises to maintain readiness for any incident in and around the airport.
9. Perform Fire Fighter tasks and other duties assigned by the Duty Officer related to AES operations.
10. Maintain physical fitness and strength to perform fire ground tasks and reduce the risk of injury.
11. Continuously develop knowledge and skills to stay competent in all fire practices and department procedures.
12. Handle extremely dangerous conditions, including serious risks of injury and death during emergency operations.
13. Be available to respond to out-of-hours emergencies as needed to manage major incidents.
14. Work 12-hour shifts on a rotational basis, including regular overnight shifts.

Requirements and Skills

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

Experience:

A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.

Certifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

Relevant certifications in the firefighting discipline.
