The Senior Field Electrical Engineer will lead electrical engineering activities for a major onshore oil and gas project in Abu Dhabi. This role involves overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards. Extensive experience in field engineering roles on ADNOC onshore or other major oil and gas projects in the Middle East is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage field electrical engineering tasks including installation, configuration, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, ADNOC standards, and industry regulations in all field electrical activities.
Provide technical guidance and quality control for contractors and subcontractors, ensuring all work aligns with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct troubleshooting, testing, and inspections of electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, and other electrical components.
Review and approve engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation to confirm accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the smooth integration of electrical systems within the overall project scope.
Conduct site surveys, inspections, and safety audits to ensure HSE compliance and assess progress of electrical installations.
Interface with client representatives and project stakeholders, providing technical support and ensuring project objectives are met within schedule.
Document field activities including test results, inspection reports, and project progress and prepare daily and weekly reports.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for electrical activities to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
10-15 years of field electrical engineering experience, with at least 5 years on ADNOC Onshore projects or other major oil and gas projects in the Middle East.
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems in the oil and gas industry including power distribution, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and grounding systems.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with experience in testing, commissioning, and quality control of electrical installations.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, IEEE) and ADNOC regulations related to electrical systems in oil and gas projects.
Effective communication skills with experience coordinating with client representatives and cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications in electrical engineering or project management are an advantage.
