Senior Expert in Waste Management and Recycling

Main Responsibilities

1. Collecting and processing recyclable materials (like paper, plastics, metals, and glass) and selling them to manufacturers or other recyclers.
2. Charging fees for waste collection services, often tiered based on the size of the service or frequency of pickup.
3. Converting waste into energy through incineration or anaerobic digestion and selling the generated electricity or heat to the grid or local industries.
4. Offering paid educational programs on recycling and waste reduction, fostering community engagement and generating income.
5. Implementing a system where customers pay based on the amount of waste they generate, encouraging recycling and reducing overall waste.
6. Partnering with municipalities for public waste management services, often funded through taxes or grants.
7. Turning waste materials into new products (e.g., furniture, art) and selling them at markets or online.
8. Implementing smart waste management solutions (like sensor-equipped bins) that can optimize collection routes and improve recycling rates.

Qualifications

Strong experience in the Waste Management/Recycling Industry; Education in Business Administration; Previous experience of working in UAE is a plus.

Workload/Location

Full-time role, United Arab Emirates.

6 months, extendable.
