Senior Estimation Engineer-Mechanical

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems, during the pre-contracting phase.
2. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project scope and estimate costs accurately.
3. Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) to support accurate estimation.
4. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure all project requirements are met in the cost estimation.
5. Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms for project resources.
6. Provide cost breakdowns and value engineering solutions to optimize project budgets without compromising quality.
7. Prepare and present estimates, risk analyses, and proposals to management and clients.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, market trends, and cost factors relevant to mechanical projects.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 8-12 years of experience in mechanical estimation, preferably in pre-contracting.
3. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, project requirements, and industry estimation practices.
4. Expertise in quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and value engineering.
5. Proficiency in estimation software and tools, along with strong MS Excel skills.
6. Excellent analytical and negotiation skills, with attention to detail.
7. Effective communication and presentation skills to work with clients and internal teams.
